Re: Rank the lenses available for Samsung NX!

I started my nx journey with the nx100 and 30mm.  That lens is awesome.  I used it on nx200, nx20 and nx500. The only thing I dont like is it does not have i function, which for low ground shots likk fliwers or mushroomsis the best control interface ive used going back nearly 60 years to my Sass kodak retina, canon a1, minolta 7xi, sony a350, sony a77ii. I moved to sony a7riv but honestly the nx500 is by far the best travel camera with this lens.  It shoild be dated but isnt, except it really is a pain in bright sunlight to manually focus, with autofocus touch screen can help.  The nx500 coild have the 30mm glued to it and i think would give fuji 100v and maybe even sony rx1 a run for the money.

85mm is beautiful for landscapes and portrait but is too heavy imo for nx500 and puts stress on the mount when on a tripod.  Nx500 has a weak tripod nut inside a plastic retainer that can pull out and bad day ... happened to me while hiking and and i had to go sans tripos and later superglued a plate!  (Works for me just not battery door location!) I would likely use it with nx1 but those stayed too high price.  I will sell it soon as im not using iit at all.

45 mm is tack sharp and better with nx500 for portraits and landscape.  Also mine has 3d that ive never tried.  I would have picked up the 60mm macro for hiking if nx hadnt dropped out, just as i was going to get the nx1.

16mm pancake is an ultra portable set with the 30mm, and has i function.  But i do prefer the rokinon manual lens for iq, but the lens hood is a pain for filters.

The zoom has the only reach for birds other than manual adapters, but i find nx500 workable for some bird shots just a bit clunky.

I love adapting lenses to this camera, canon fd, rollei qbm, leica r, dkl.  Never found a mount for leica m though.

My favorite lenses in order overall based on my use: 30mm, canon fd 50mm f1.4, 45mm, minolta a mount 28mm f2.4, 16mm pancake and 50 to 200mm for reach.  Others are usable just not what i pick up for a hike or trip.

Unless you are doing sports or long reach nature this camera and these lenses you can do most of nearly any rig on the market, in my experience.  I would recommend shooting raw with the dng converter if you are a raw shooter or doctor up the jpegs to your taste.  Enjoy!
