Manual Exposure-Auto ISO on M6 MKii
2

I'm a fairly recent owner of this wonderful camera. 10 days ago I had my first opportunity to do some action shots at a picnic with some friends. I took many photos that day and some turned out very good.

I usually shoot in Av mode and did that day. My problems were with moving subjects. I had the depth of field I wanted but the camera chose too slow a shutter speed and naturally I got some blurry shots.

Subsequently I got to thinking of using Manual Exposure with Auto ISO. That way I will be able to set Aperture for DOF and Shutter to stop movement. Auto ISO will try to make exposure correct even in varying lighting conditions.

I've set Auto ISO to max 3200 per Larry Rexley's suggestion if higher exposure is needed to 'Push' it in DXO PL (which I use anyway).

I have no real experience shooting in Manual but this approach seems like more of a semi-auto mode as are Av & Tv. I'm wondering if any of you might use or have tried this method. If so I would sure appreciate your comments and any suggestions.

Thanks, Rod
