But with the R7 the third party EF demon is still there. You can still adapt the Sigma f/1.8 Art zooms, the 28&50mm f/1.4 Art primes, and this time it's with pretty good IBIS. You can get a used 18-35mm f/1.8 Art for as little as 300 euro or so, while the IQ will be - at least - on par with the RF 24-105 f/4.0 on the R6, admittedly with a much much shorter range, but the IQ is there, the AF is fast which is awesome when paired to that R7, and it will cost you next to nothing. It can make all the difference between needing a second system for indoors family pics or to just add this lens and that's it.

The price of the R7 is what I would have payed for the A6600 if it would have had good ergonomics. The R7 will have good ergonomics.

You've put it nicely MAC. For the people who need max features and performance, the M System is an adjunct to complement their other cameras. It's just like my plans for the R7... it'll be an adjunct that I'll be using to shoot only macros. For me it needn't have any other capabilities than that. Yet.

The 135mm f/1.8 Art + RF-EF speedbooster will work fine on the R7, freeing up the R5 for something else, 28-70mm f/2.8 for instance, and with the normal adapter you will get the equivalent of 216mm & f/2.8 with the same lens.

The Sigma 15mm fisheye will work, this time with a drop in ND filter as well.... If you defish in post you have a 24mm next to your 28-70mm.

You do come up with some interesting lens combinations/solutions. It’s one of the biggest reasons I follow your posts ‘Storm.

I’m pretty happy with my event kit so far however. R6 with the RF 28-70 f/2, R5 with the RF 70-200 f/2.8 (or Sigma EF 135 f/1.8 if I need max bokeh), and now the M6ii with the Sigma EF-S 10mm f/2.8 Fishy (for fun). I could of course put the Fish on the R7, but I’d lose the M6ii’s terrific tilting LCD (great for odd angle candids). I actually doubt the R7 would come with me at this point. I think it’ll remain my dedicated macro shooter (which was my original plan).

R2

Too many cameras already.    If you have both the R6 and R5 it's hard to find a place for it in event shooting, however,  AF is always a huge factor, and the R7 will likely have some serious AF power.

45 is more than enough, but 500.000 isn't
