I was really sad when I sold my M6ii and M gear.

It would be sad for me because there is nothing this small and powerful for a value

Was an excellent camera, but the lack of updates,

it works for me as an adjunct camera

lenses,

11-22 and 32 rock

shutter shock issues

e-shutter works

and imminent new system to replace it

hmm, they have announced R7/R10 that doesn't have the glass

made up my mind. Rumours of is aligning with R was out for some time, and those lenses are just too expensive.

true

After selling all my M gear, the move to Panasonic Full frame was a breeze.

I'm not into video and bigger sizes and dollars so it would be cold headwind for me

Still, if you stick to primes and don't care much for video then the images that the M6ii produces are just beautiful.

exactly - at a value price - and with dxo pl5 it approaches FF IQ

And the size in hand and functionality is still up there.

yep - small size and powerful matter

I didnt care much for no EVF and the free clip on one I barely even used.

actually, I've grown to like the options

The screen quality alone makes up for it.

I like both

But remember it was released in 2019. Canon has its eyes set on R now.

memory will get you GAS - it is about taking pitchas

who knows - Canon may come to their senses when they see the market react and build the m6III and M5II and make a fast m zoom

32, 22, 16, 56, 11-22 hard to beat with any other system

glass first

Nice response. Trust me, memory is not at issue for me, my favourite camera that I use was built in 1959. If I care for small I still have my Sony aps-c gear in storage somewhere.

wow, 1959!

But I am at a happy place now.

that is all that matters

The only people I've seen that have been disappointed with their M gear are the ones who've never understood its place in Canon's lineup.  It was never meant to be a full-featured system.  They won't ever give us an M5ii or a nice compact 17-55 f/2.8.  Canon is waaay too protective of their top tier lines to do that!

You've put it nicely MAC.  For the people who need max features and performance, the M System is an adjunct to complement their other cameras.  It's just like my plans for the R7... it'll be an adjunct that I'll be using to shoot only macros.  For me it needn't have any other capabilities than that.  Yet.
