I bought a EF-M 18-150, after I think one day with it I concluded I would probably never use my RF 24-105 stm again so I sold it with my EOS RP and the reason is quite simple:
The EOS M system gives me great corners for every lens at min focal.
The downside of this decision is that I probably have to get RF 24-105L or make the decision that I am going to focus on getting the f/2.8 trinity for my R.
Also I have the discomforting feeling that R + whatever L is not going to give me the corner performance of M6 + whatever EF-M.
29mm around f/5.6 no sharp corners with RF L lenses?
That's a bold statement.
it is an incorrect perception based on his cheapo 24-105 stm
also based on my experience with EF 24-70 f/2.8L on 5D!
yes, this lens had soft issues
I probably will get the RF 24-105 or 24-70 but having 3 stellar crop lenses covering the same focal range (11-22, my copy of 15-45 and 18-150) means I am no hurry but I guess that maybe 24-70 f/2.8 gives more flexibility and less overlap featurewise with what I have.
But here is a quick comparision between 24 mm on ff and 15 on crop regarding possible reason for better corner performance on crop, it is actually quite possible for the corners in 15 mm simply to be more than 1.3 m from the camera due to the camera being held around 1.7-1.75 m above ground, the bigger size of the ff means is possibly little lower physically and corners thus ending on being outside of the DOF box.
Not to mention that building a good crop lens seems to be simpler and more cost effective, just given the number of good non software corrected EF-M lenses vs non software corrected RF lenses.

I used to own 24 f/1.4L, don't recall the ff corners but I remember having used it more with aps-c.
the II was better
Look, 24mm wide open, some design choices could have been made, but 24mm wide open is not the same as 18mm f/3.5 on crop.
If corner sharpness is that important to you, you might have a look at the EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L, the Sigma 24-35mm f/2.0 Art, the Sigma 28mm f/1.4 Art.
or RF 24-105 F4 L
this is the third L version of the 24-105 from Canon and the best on the planet
If weight is a concern there are also the 24&28mm f/2.8 IS USM lenses. These might be not as good as the other ones, but still not bad, especially stopped down a bit.
I like my 24 IS
Storm's EF 24 - 70 F2.8 II and my RF 24-105 F4L are later year updates that solve the issues you are complaining about on FF
