Re: All hell broke loose (part 2)

Yesterday, everything looked nice and quiet and calm. But it was the calm before the storm, part II.

At midnight, a thunderstorm showed up (we were under a tornado watch, the same system that threatened Michigan yesterday). It came straight for me. After losing thirty trees and an electrical wire, lightning decided to strike my artesian well. It was past midnight but I was up because I was hearing something bad coming. While I was looking outside through the panoramic window, I saw a huge flash landing towards my artesian well, about 200 feet from the house. The flash was so big that my dusk to dawn spotlights turned of for a second.

I was trying to fill a bucket of water in case of a power failure. Thirty seconds after the flash, the water stopped flowing. My water pump, 120 feet deep fried.

After an emergency call, plumbers came today and after struggling to get to the hose, we pulled out 120 feet deep of wires and hose with the ATV to replace the pump. Lots of $$$ to fix that, in the thousands but I haven’t seen the invoice yet.

I hope Mother Nature will leave me alone for a few years as I am still licking my wounds. They say money is not everything but it still comes out of a bank account.

Well, that was the calm before the storm yesterday…

The calm before the storm.

Regards,
There is always something to shoot/snap, you just have to know how to do it and have the right gear.
