Color vision variations are so common, either lifelong or because of cataracts. At least the cataracts can be fixed.

Dan Margulis in his book says Never mind what the picture on the screen looks like, go by the numbers.

Auto WB doesn't work. Sometimes you have another shot from the same place that has something gray in it that you can use for reference. Or for sunlit scenes, just set WB to daylight and leave it there.
