Ladies and gents,
As the topic implies; curious from those who have used or use both, which they prefer, why, etc.
I've used both myself, and granted I have a EVF-DC1 on it's way, but, that doesn't mean I can't change my mind.
My hunch says that EVF-DC1 will pair better with the 15-45 when slung.
I really found the EVF-DC2 to be very crisp and contrasty, and glasses friendly.
Also, my time with the EVF-DC1 was all when using older Canon's, the G1X Mark II and EOS M3. I wonder is it more useful on a faster Canon?
Thoughts?
Apparently the EVF-DC1 provides a larger coverage than the EVF-DC2. It's LCD vs LED I might add. The former will be more power hungry. The latter, less, and more contrast presumably. I don't like how the EVF-DC2 "digs" into my back when slung with lighter lenses. The 22 pancake and 15-45 come to mind, some of my favorites I might add.
I do recall the eye-detection of the EVF-DC1 was somewhat problematic and my eye-cup came off one of em, which isn't replaceable I might add. Canon doesn't make that part separately as I learned when that happened.
I have both. I like the DC1 much more because it matches the contrast and look of the large display on the M6ii, where as the DC2 does not - it has significantly more contrast. I need both displays to match when flicking between the two. I can't have everything looking darker and more contrasty when I hold it up to my eye.
I also like the flip up design over the fixed-in-place one of the DC2. The DC2 to me felt like a big downgrade from the DC1 - something I was not expecting.
