Old Aurora Colony Museum
2

This past Saturday on a dark gloomy day, I was planning to go to an event, but it was too crowded and may have been sold out. So I went to something else. I decided to visit the area where Joe Meek had a reunion in 1874, about one year before he died. This was Aurora, Oregon. For this series, I'll just show what I saw at the Old Aurora Colony Museum. Around that town, there's a lot of other historic buildings.

Photo No. 1 - For those that would like to visit the town, here's the directory.  I concentrated my time at the building identified as no. 2, which was the museum.

Photo No. 2 - Here is what the Old Aurora Colony Museum looks like on the outside.

Photo No. 3 - Across from this museum, were these beautifully restored homes.

Photo No. 4 - Inside the museum, there were displays like this.

Photo No. 5 - In the yard adjacent to the museum, there were these nice tables and benches with a herb garden nearby.

Photo No. 6 - In another building separate from the museum, I could see these old tools.

Photo No. 7 - Here's another view of what was seen above.

Photo No. 8 - In another building there was this old wagon.

Photo No. 9 - There's an interesting story about this wagon, if you want to read about it below.

Photo No. 10 - Near the wagon, were these mill stones that were broken.  At one time, they ground down wheat and other grains.

Photo No. 11 - I think that's a bed frame in the center.

Photo No. 12 - And finally another wagon or buggy....  I hope you liked the series.
