Yikes! I'm having a flashback!

Unattractive noise is no longer an issue now I use DxO PureRAW as my "noisy image" RAW converter. I think it does a much better job with lens corrections too. It's too slow for routinely converting big image sets directly from the card, even with a bat-fast PC, so I use Capture One pro for that. But once I've selected keepers, they get a dose of DxO - but only if I feel they need it. I rarely think about ISO settings when shooting any more and just leave it on auto with max set to 19200. I'm one happy bunny on that!

The AF "missing" hasn't improved any, but I no longer use the A7riv where that could be an issue as I have a shiny (not so) new A1 that auto-focuses exactly as I expect, so I choose that instead. The A7riv spends most of it's time on studio macro rails, microscopes or a copy stand these days, with occasional outings for "slow thoughtful" stuff.

Time (and cash) heals
