No video experience - what settings to use for this?

I have an X-T2 and I am trying to do some indoor videos for the home automation company I work for.  The issue I'm having is related to automated shades - when I'm taking a video on whatever settings it defaulted to (probably auto settings?) the exposure gain increases due to the darker room being exposed to the light outside as the shades rise. Is there a good alternative for making the gain less obvious and choppy? I am not even sure how to adjust settings in video so I'll take a look at that, but I'm open to any suggestions. I figured I could do some sort of mid exposure that allows it not to look as awkward and edit the darker room and lighter outside in post, but I'm not sure.
