More resolution. IBIS. Stacked CMOS. Moderate performance and video bumps. I'll buy it.

Why do you think Canon would put a stacked sensor in a R replacement?

Because it is a mid-range segment. Well, maybe not stocked, but at least BSI.

I could see something like that happening way down the road when stacked sensors are in everything but it doesn’t make sense to me to expect it in the next iteration, especially considering that the R isn’t really a camera designed for action photography.

You may be right, but it seems like the thing Canon would make a selling point for a mid-range body that maybe doesn't wildly increase MP. Even if they came out with a 30MP stacked BSI they could sell the R Mark II for about the same price and increase video specs and dynamic range enough to make it worth the price for an upgrade.

But yeah, maybe more hope than realism. We'll see?

I fully expect that eventually all new models will have stacked sensors but it seems like the first ones to get them will be the more action-oriented models.  As far as I am concerned stacked sensors can’t come quickly enough.
