EOS 6D debuted 2012 at about the same price as 7D did in 2009, and when 7D mark II came out in 2014, its launch price was about $100 higher than 6D's. So your premise is incorrect.

The 6D was $2,099 at launch and the 7D/2 was $1,799 at launch.  The MSPR  for the 7D was $1,699 at its launch in 2009.  It appears that I am right?
