Huh?
IMO the important measurement would be the distance from the BACK of camera to the FRONT of the extended lens; ZS50 (under 3.75") vs. the PowerShot ZOOM Monocular's (4.06"; per specs) length.

Body small enough to be hidden while being held in hand(s) when using the EVF; as with the PowerShot ZOOM Monocular.
Yes I like being discreet; but I have no phobia of others that 'may' see me taking pictures.
Note that I keep referencing the ZS50/ ZS70 for its smaller size (no flip rear display) 'AND' the 12MP sensor. I the ZS60/ TZ80 also does not have the flip rear display, but with the 18MP sensor. IMO (and many others) 12MP the overall optimum pixel density for the 1/2.3" sensor.

You have a point and given the same pricing or almost the same pricing, it really doesn't make sense to get a Canon PowerShot Zoom. Something like these Panasonic compact cameras offer way more features and also reach compare to the Canon.

... I have to ask though, this non-phobia of others seeing you taking pictures, is this something you were naturally born with or did you develop it over the years? ...
I never had any issues taking picctures in public.
May be due to my dad taking pics/ movies at various outdoor events, vacations, etc., and seeing others taking pictures.
I've had various inexpensive film cameras since I was 14.
... Really I feel like I am commiting a crime when I take out a camera in public, funnily though I never have the same feeling when using a smartphone. ...
When you're out and about no one else around taking pictures?
Might be a interesting topic as to 'any inhibitions taking pictures in public' to post on the "Open Talk" forum to see the type of replies you get.
BTW saw your "FZ2500 FZ300 Size Comparison" post; and you're concerned as to the Canon PowerShot Zoom vs. ZS70 camera size?
Cheers,
Jon
