I like the “view” of the DC-1 better (it’s less contrasty), but if you’re shooting action, the DC-2 has a faster refresh rate.
That said, I only use an EVF when using long telephotos, and like the others much prefer to shoot with just the back LCD. (Personal preference)

I appreciate the answers...
I'm giving the EVF-DC1 a shot, but, the loss of contrast and refresh is going to have me weigh the pros and cons here; this isn't a 1 horse race like I initially suspected. Devils is in the details...
.
Regarding straps and whatnot; that I've really not had good luck with. Any strap worth a heck of beans, has too much weight... When resting an M6 on a table top, heavy straps cause it to lean/pull.
.
Question; I don't like Black Rapid or Black Rapid-like solutions... Dangling is a no-no, I'm too much on the go with my kids. Camera ends up banging against things while it's "flopping around"
Wrist straps don't stick to me; has to be in the hand at all times. That works somewhat with a lean Powershot, but on an M? I can answer that without trying, no. It's annoying as it is on the G5X II.
Solutions like PD where you have a slot that you can tie to say a belt, doesn't work either for similar reasons.
So, is there perhaps another light-weight strap I should be considering? See my problem? I've run this track a couple times to no avail. I've learned through experience that the default strap is the best be it on my M, PowerShot or R. The PowerShot G5X II's wrist strap is (somewhat) do-able because of how light the camera is (and the strap is virtually non-existent too) and I pocket it when I don't want to hold it. The M can't pocket with most lenses, and isn't quite as light. I also found the wrist strap/pocket or put in pouch on my belt, not efficient for quick access. Strap wins.
This is how I end up with an "inferior" EVF-DC1... *sigh* ...and the default strap. It's light and non-existent too and the camera "sticks" to you. I sling it in reverse on my back for comfort though or over the chest, never on the neck.
Am I missing anything I should consider? I'm up for a third option, but I think I've burned my options and the strap is the least of evils.
