When I first bought into the M system, in the original M firesale, I thought I had bought a one-off (or rather two-off, as I bought 2 body deals to get both lenses, an EF adapter and the little flashgun) - we all thought the system was dead. I did love the feel of the little camera, though, and the quality of the 22mm - especially when a firmware update meant it would find focus in less than half a lifetime. When the M3 came along, and a few more lenses, it started to look like a practical travel system for me - I've always been clear that the system isn't really targeted at photographers like me, either in my pro or enthusiast guises, but I've never bothered about that sort of thing- if it works for me as is, fine. Equally, I've never expected Canon to produce exactly what I want in this series, because I know my needs are not those of the main target market.

I've acquired more and more M kit - I find uses for the M100/200, M50, and of course M6 II. And I have a wide range of very compact lenses - I can make up all sorts of travel options. So I'll keep on with the kit for now - shame of there's no M6 III, but so long as I can have a body I can get to control for thr results I want, I don't care that much. And even the M200 can do that as a travel cam.
