Canons lineup is getting filled out, there simply itsnt room or a need for the R replacement these days.

Youve got your high end FF R3/R5, the more economical FF R6, and the two new APSC models. The only thing missing is an entry level FF model, which will likely replace *both* the R and RP at the same time.

Canon does not need 5 tiers of FF bodies. Sticking with their high end R3/R5 (R1?), enthusiast FF R6, and an entry level FF body (TBD) is plenty.

The R was a venture into mirrorless, a sidegraded 5DIV, its replacement was the R5.

I think there is still room for something slotted between the R6 and R5. Would that be an R 5½ ?
