Well, I don't actually own any, at the moment, but I am seriously considering buying an M50 Mark II body and an EF-M 22 mm f/2 STM lens.

This combination might just be the best "fixed" prime lens compact camera on the market, and nothing else in Canon's lineup can match it. In fact, you'd be hard-pressed to find any other offering on the market that could compete with it on focal length, speed, features, quality, and price.

The closest you could get would maybe be a Rebel SL3 (substantially larger) with an EF-S 24 mm f/2.8 or EF 40 mm f/2 (disc), both of which are a full stop slower, or with the EF 50 mm f/1.8 STM, which is a telephoto v. a wide-angle.

If I do this, I will not be looking to invest in any other M gear. I will buy it and treat it as if it is a fixed prime lens viewfinder camera similar to my ancient Yashica Electro 35GX.

I currently have a slightly less ancient Rebel XSi with the EF 50 mm f/1.8 II that was gifted to me by a friend who no longer used it. I suppose I could spring for the EF lens to EF-M body adapter and use the 50 mm on the M50mkII, but I'm allergic to kludges.

If there were a pancake lens for the EF mount that was f/2 or faster, I'd have already bought the Rebel SL3.

I do expect that Canon will in the near future discontinue the M line in favor of the R line. but until there's an RF equivalent to the EF-M 22 mm f/2 STM, and an EOS R body that costs $600 street price, I have zero interest n the R line.
