I'm a long time Pentax user and used 1000d, 450d before that.

The K3mkiii in all its glory can't compete on specs with the R7 nor performance I suspect.

Price is the same,.....

but not many R series lenses yet? although I'm sure that'll soon change or can use old ones with adapters.

A 32mp apsc with killer focus and better buffer ? Yes please

Ricoh are painted into the old technology corner, what they produce is good but only if you love Pentax and own the K mount glass.

All the other brands have better more modern technology in their cameras.

The strong point of Pentax is the ruggedness, the lens selection is reasonably good.If a person cant stand the EVFs and needs optical then Pentax has the best in a crop body. Its a 1299 camera(imo).Nice stills but video is archaic.

Theres a reason Pentax market share is a touch over 1%,their glory days are gone.

Some niche features and they keep hanging in.

For less than RRp of Pentax,Canon gives a R7 plus the 18-150.
