It became apparent as an X-T4 owner, that they really had maxxed out what was possible with this gen of tech, we received no significant updates at all.

I see this a lot - the idea that the hardware is maxed out, thus the lack of any firmware improvements. I don’t buy it.

Examples - they could improve the ridiculous method for dialing in a white balance manually. Not only haven’t they, but it’s apparently still the same on the X-H2S.

AF - I find it hard to believe that they couldn’t “train” the existing AF algorithm to find phantom faces less frequently without needing faster hardware.

AF - when enabling Face/Eye detect it would be helpful to have to option to automatically set the AF speed to Max. This wouldn’t require processing horsepower.

It would be nice to have the ability to decouple Face/Eye detect and exposure metering.
I could go on - there are a ton of minor improvements like this that they could make to improve the user experience.

I do not think it’s that, but the things you have mentioned are quite particular and many of us might not be bothered by such things.  Not everyone uses the same camera the same way.  Also, if all manufacturers could make firmware perfect, wouldn’t they?  I think people tend to think making things perfect is easy, but maybe it just isn’t.
