$1100 for M6II vs $1500 for R7…

The M6ii has been $850 at most big outlets for a very long time.

certainly not twice as much, and much more longevity.

Completely different classes of cameras. With different appeal.

The only model that makes sense in the M lineup is the M50 for about $600 (because of price/ performance).

M50 has always been too stripped down for me. I prefer the up-specced M6ii by a large margin. Best to get one now.

I was using Amazon prices on the day of that post.

The M6ii (body only) has been on my Wish List at Amazon for a very long time (I like to keep an eye on the price).  It's been stuck at $850 there for a couple of years.  Hasn't budged a cent.

As far as class, yes the R7 is much more capable, but they have a lot in common (sensor, approximate size, controls, etc.)

I place the R7 sensor in an entirely different class due to the IBIS alone.  The approximate size of the R7 is MUCH larger than the M6ii, with a waay beefier grip.  Controls are waay different as well.  They simply do not compare.

if the M6ii had an EVF I likely would have bought one. Great camera otherwise.

I much much prefer to use the back display for composing.  I wish that all of my cameras had the M6ii's awesome tilting LCD.  But of course that is indeed a preference, and everybody has theirs.
