Played with an R7 and R10 today

I was able hold and play with a R7 and R10 today at Pictureline. They had a Canon rep in the store today. She had both the cameras and the new RF-S lenses. The R10 is really small. Both lenses are really light. I am not planning on buying either right now, but after playing with them I might get an R7 in the future. One of my main concerns was the controls, but they really are not bad. While very different from any Canon I have used, it should not be a big learning curve. The menus do seem a little different.
Feel wise both seemed very well built. They are both smaller than the R5/R6. They are also both very light. The mechanical shutter is noisier than R5. Not bad, just clicky. The lenses are amazingly small, light and feel plasticky. I have never even seen a Canon M series so I don't know how they compare to M lenses.
I have a 7D that my daughter now uses, I have not held a 7D MKII, but the build of the R7 is not like the 7D. Not that the camera feels bad or anything, but I would rate it more prosumer grade. Similar to XXD cameras. I also did not think the viewfinder looked bad. Not R5 quality, but very usable indoors. Probably will be very nice outdoors.
The Canon Rep said she had just received the cameras a few days ago. Pictureline right now is confident they will start filling orders on the 23rd. One person was concerned because she is going on an artic trip at the end of the month and they told her should would pretty sure have the camera by then, but I think she is going to buy an R6 instead.
Personally I thought the R10 might be more fun if you want a small camera. The R10 is really tiny. With a RF lens you might ask if there is a camera on the lens. I personally would not get an R10, carrying two types of batteries would be a pain.
I think most people if they have reasonable expectations will be happy with the R7.
