Any useful difference(s) between the older vs the newer version of the Tamron SP 90mm macro lens?

We've been looking for a macro lens for our 7D mark ii, and what we have available over here, is rather limited, since we're located in the middle of nowhere. One lens we do have available however, is the OLDER version of the Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD!

Question is: Are there any USEFUL (aka major) differences between the older vs the newer version of this particular macro lens? Like, will the older version do the job as good as the newer, or? Weight, color, design, weather seal etc. = irrelevant for us.

If there are no differences, then it looks like the 90mm will be our macro lens of choice!
