W 126 battery questions

A search for this question yielded many discussions from the time the W126 S battery was introduced with the X-T2, and not much since. I was wondering if the intervening years had yielded any more wisdom.

I have several older cameras that use the original W126 battery (the most used being an X-T10) and one newer camera using the S battery, an X-T2. The older cameras currently share a battery pool consisting of, until this weekend, three older Fuji W126 packs and three or four Watson aftermarket batteries. One of the Watsons failed on me on the road-- luckily I discovered it would no longer hold a charge in time to recharge the factory battery that was in the camera and squeak through the last day of my trip. The X-T2 has two W126 S batteries, both Fujis, one that came secondhand with the camera and one of which was bought new two years ago.

How should I rebuild my battery collection? Apparently Fuji no longer sells the W126, Am I wrong about this? Does anybody know a source for OEM W126 batteries? It is safe to use the W126 S in older cameras designed for the original version, correct? Is it the best use of limited funds to just buy 2 or 3 new OEM S model batteries to share among all the cameras? Any advice is welcome, especially from those who still use the older cameras regularly.
