Re: Focal length vs Mp (again?)

Yes, 32 MP over 24 MP is well worth it.

It is very complicated and not necessary to think in terms of focal length.  When you crop your images to the required composition you will get 33% more pixels for any given crop size.

My APS-C cameras progressed from 6, to 12, to 24 MP.  Doubling each time was extremely effective, but 24 to 32 is still appreciable.

The 70-300 L would be reasonably effective with one of the EF 1.4x extenders too.  All the 32 MP cameras will AF to f8.  With the mirrorless you could even try a 2x, but IQ may suffer too much.

Between the 1.4x and the 32MP body you would just about double your equivalent MP.
