Does anyone know how Pentax camera make use of O-GPS1 unit with astrotracker function?

Hi all,

I just brought, O-GPS1 unit, will going to look for Pentax K-5ii to do Astro photo shooting. How does Pentax able to calculate what kind of lens focal length, so that manage get senor shift with for sky shifting.

e.g. 28mm lens will be very different than 300mm lens.

Does it have to be native DA lens in order to works? what if I am using telescope with T2 adapter PK mount ? does it works? is there setting I can input to tell camera how long is my lens focal length?

thanks
