Sensor Coating Database

Many of us face the problem to wet-clean their sensors,

a fragile work. The most crucial point is the hardness of the

coatings and especially without IBIS, sometimes tougher pressure is needed

to remove a stain. Or use another liquid/kind of alcohol, even acetone

Many Full Frame / MFT / ASC.C cameras from different brands use the same sensors.

My proposal would be building a database on their sensor window materials

and coatings.

As one example, Magnesium Fluoride is a relatively common coating for antiflection. Knoop Hardness is 415 kg/mm2

Sand (quartz) has 820 kg/mm2.

So the smallest particle could scratch Magnesium Fluoride.

So a database would help how to approach the cleaning.
