D300 to Z6II, Lens Q

So I think I've decided to stick with Nikon and move from my old D300's to Z6II's. Z7II's just seem like a jump I don't need and for product/portraiture/landscape I don't think I readily need the bump in res, I mean common I've been using 12mp for over a decade.

I'll pick up the FTZ II adapter so I can keep using my nifty 50, 12-24 & 90mm/macro-- the real question I can't quite figure is if I want to jump into Z glass yet or not. I know it's all DX to FX and I won't be getting the full utility out of the body at the start-- but should I?

Is the kit lens good enough to warrent getting it? Looking at ebay there are rare deals but most of them are holding their discounted value at the moment.

Maybe pick up the native 50/1.8 or wait and save for a better 1.x?

Any other considerations?

Appreciate you all!
