Are Flatpak Linux apps color managed?

As discussed in multiple threads here, a fully color managed app on Windows needs to reach out/up to the OS level for the monitor profile in order for the app to implement color management properly. I seem to recall there may actually even be APIs for this in Windows.

So how about Flatpak apps on Linux? Flatpak apps are of course commonly touted as being sandboxed or at least fully self-contained including all dependencies and run-times needed for the app to function. So does this preclude a color critical app from making use of a monitor profile? Or from Flatpak's perspective would that be essentially the same as the app opening a document file but just doing so in an automated fashion out of site to the user? In other words, could the Flatpak app getting the monitor profile be nothing more than basic file system access where Flatpak is concerned?
