Speedboosters for old glass

Hi,

I am currently shooting an XT-4 and my collection of old glass is becoming ever larger. I have some Canon FD, Minolta MC/MD, and Pentax K lenses so far.

I have been perfectly happy using these lenses with K&F adapters that I can purchase for about 15/20 euros each.

But I was wondering about speedboosters (or focal reducers?). If I understand correctly, these should give me the angle of view with these old (fullframe) lenses as intended or? Meaning a FF 50mm on my APS-C sensor should give me the same image as on a fullframe sensor? Or do I misunderstand how speedboosters work?

Does anybody here use speedboosters to shoot with vintage lenses? I am just curious to hear what your experience has been. The cheapest speedboosters I can find are 90 euros on Ebay (new). No idea if these are even good quality, but suffice to say it would be more expensive then the K&F adapters.
