Hello to this forum,
for a few weeks my aperture dial around the shutter is difficult to turn. My M6 is about 4,5 years old.
Since I don't want to open the camera, is there any hint
- if this could be a general problem?
- how it could be improved?
Thanks in advance for every reply.
I had the same problem some time ago on my M6. I used a tiny amount of WD-40 and a piece of dental floss to help get it in under the dial. But it didn't help so I placed the camera in a coset and forgot all about it.
But when I took the camera out again a few months later, the dial was much better. Maybe not exactly as loose as new, but I had no problems turning it. So I guess that the WD-40 just needed more time.
I am not sure I would recommend this approach, because there is a chance things can go wrong. You have to be willing to take that risk.
I used WD-40 on mice that were a problem in my shed ,stopped them squeaking.
That's the weirdest. 😉
