70-200: f4 v f2.8 given RF100-400 for amateur

I want a 70-200 and I’m saving up to it. The big question is which version. f4 or f2.8? I’m thinking the f4 version would be better for me. One of the biggest reasons, beside price, is that I’m strength compromised and it’s just plain lighter. But there are two things that give me pause. Firstly, I have the RF 100-400. Would the dimmer version of the lens be too close to that lens? Secondly, the brighter lens would be better for portraits and I’m trying to move away from primes.

bonus question: I’ve thought about buying the RF 50f1.8 to have a native, bright lens but thinking I might save that money and put it towards the above lens. Should I skip it?
