Non-linear Diffraction Limited MTF

Hello! I am putting together a basic camera simulator that is applied to spectral renders. To verify the results, I measure the MTF and compare against a sensor performance model. As you can see when I compare the results of the detector MTF (no diffraction blur) they match quite well. When I add the blur function though, the measured results consistently show a characteristic non-linear ‘bump’ in the low frequencies of the curve as opposed to the modeled results which are immediately linear. In the linear domain, both curves have very similar slopes. These patterns persist regardless of optical parameters (aperture diameter, focal length, pixel pitch,…). This non-linearity is also persistent whether or not I apply the blur via convolution, or working in Fourier space.

Anyone have any intuition about what's happening here?
