Nikon Z vs dSLRs for video?

I have that the Z cameras are better for video.  For those who have used video with dSLRs what is your view with it?  I would be just be using the memory card, half the time also they might be on the stage at a distance like an auditorium so autofocus won't be an issue probably running at ISO 800 or so with 30fps.  Regarding dSLRs when one wants video what models / age would one need to consider?  I have a D600 and the video isn't the best I know.  Are we talking about minimally a D750/850/D5 at least?

With some event work with people I know, not necessarily a city event function.  In the future I could pick up a 2nd body to go with the D600 for still photography and the single digital series might be tempting or should I?

Cheers.
