Image quality in the RF 24–240 vs. RF 14–35 overlap

Image quality in the RF 24–240 vs. RF 14–35 overlap

Someone suggested in another thread that these two lenses make a nice, relatively light-weight combo for travel. I agree but now I ask myself these questions:

Which of the two should be on the camera in common situations (and the other in the bag)?

More specifically, for walk-around in a city where I expect to shoot a lot at 24, 28 or 35 mm, which one will be better in terms of image quality? Or are the differences irrelevant?
