Re: new K3 III advice/tips/tricks

thanks Paul , Doug and KMP2,
I really appreciate your insights.

Paul, yes it is a lot (the camera is very seriously overpowered for my needs), and I'm going to have to learn it gradually. user modes sound very useful, but I'll need to get a better grasp on the basics first.

Doug, my K30 was (and still is, although I expect it to get less use now)set up in a fairly basic configuration:
single point auto-focus (usually center + focus and recompose) , global metering + awb + shoot everything raw (something I may need to reconsider , processing the raw files from the K3III may require a PC upgrade..).
getting the K3III to work in this mode is fairly simple- most of the options are similar, but I will need to learn how to make the most of all the new AF modes.

KMP, yes, I really need to figure out all the different focus modes and what they are each suited for. this is something I didn't play with on the K30 almost at all. I think things like Kobie's article PF can help a little with this, but I will probably need some time experimenting (time is a bit scarce at the moment) to get a better understanding.
