Also had the opportunity to test and use the PL100-400mm against the MZ100-400mm and found it to be just as sharp, if not sharper throughout the focal range. It did have a significantly stiffer zoom ring yet the overall build quality felt better and it was smaller and lighter.

I have since begun using the PL200mm which is similar size to the PL100-400mm yet is somewhat heavier.

If I was to get a 100-400mm again I would choose the PL100-400mm, especially with the OM1.

Which body did you use for testing and what were your impressions about IS?

I'm seeing some debate about using PL 100-400 on Olympus body as IS performance can vary. Some say that it's better to stick with Oly 100-400 with Oly bodies and vice versa. Even if Oly 100-400 doesn't have Sync IS with Oly bodies.

I am seeing second hand PL 100-400 on my area with decent price but I'm concerned about IS with such a long focal lengths. And especially because I'd be using it with Oly body.

I have E-M1 MkII as a body.
