I was told the M series is going out of production.

There have been no official announcements Canon, from just a bunch of wild speculation. People have been claiming that it will be discontinued "soon" for almost 10 years now since the inception of the line.

We may have more information when Canon makes it's next product announcements on May 24th. Rumor has it that they will announce APS-C bodies using the RF mount which could indicate the start of a transition away from EF-M but we don't know anything for certain yet.

On the other hand, Canon did officially announce at the end of last year that the EOS 1D X iii from 2020 will be their last flagship DSLR. They are moving away from SLRs towards mirrorless although it may take some time before they stop selling SLR products entirely.

I am undecided and want to buy a camera and on the one hand the M50 is smaller and it has no mirror and on the other hand the 850D has a lot of lenses and there is also a LIVE mode that gives a comparison to the advantage of the mirrorless.

The M50 with the official Canon adapter can use every single EF and EF-S lens that the 850D can. The M50 additionally has access to the selection of smaller/light EF-M lenses and you can adapt pretty much any vintage lens that you want.

The M50 itself is a bit smaller, lighter, and you can preview all settings (exposure, white balance, etc.) through the electronic viewfinder. What you see through the viewfinder is the image that you will capture.

The 850D is a bit larger, heavier, and has an optical viewfinder. What you see through the viewfinder is real life (and the results you get may be different). If you want to preview settings, you would need to use the screen on the back. The 850D does have a larger grip and may be more comfortable for some people, especially larger hands. It is also probably more comfortable to use with very large or long lenses. Another advantage is that when you are just using the optical viewfinder with the screen off, battery life can be much longer.

The prices of the cameras are the same in my country. What should I take?

Try to go to a store and see if you can hold them both (or even similar models) to see which is more comfortable for you.

They both have different strengths and weaknesses but will return the same image quality, it's really up to you what works best. For example, if you think you will do a bunch of wildlife photography with long lenses, then the larger gripped 850D with better battery standby may be more practical. But if you think that you will want to do a bunch of landscape photography and carry it around a lot, then the smaller/lighter M50 and EF-M lenses may be more practical.
