Re: Affinity Photo . . .

I started looking for alternatives to Lightroom and Photoshop the moment Adobe announced the "software subscription" malarkey. It took a while, but I settled on Capture One Pro and Affinity photo. Quite big learning curves in both cases but for different reasons. C1 was quite a change from LR, file/library management in particular, but I really liked their sessions model and eased my way into the rest after using that first. Affinity was (is) functionally much like PS, but with some familiar things missing, or working differently. Simple tasks sometimes weren't obvious and there were frequent little trip-ups from muscle memory hitting the new normal. Slow going at first, but I was up to speed again within a few months. Maybe six.

Couldn't imagine using anything else now.
