I'm just wondering does the Canon Rebel 400D have a wireless feature where I can have the flash go off when I take a picture with the camera, when it's NOT mounted to the camera? The Speedlite has the slave feature, but does the CAMERA have the ability?

Kovarr,

I'm not positive, but I think if your Speedlight has a slave feature, it should recognize when the flash goes off on your camera, and will trigger a flash too.

Here's a snippet from a website called, Improve Photography.

https://improvephotography.com/10126/what-is-slave-mode-on-a-flash/

"All the speedlight is doing is detecting a pop of light to trigger itself. Simply put, the slave mode on your flash will allow you to fire that particular flash when it senses the flash from another speedlight."

"TIP: If you plan on using your pop-up flash to trigger your speedlight in slave mode, you will have to compensate for the extra light coming from your camera. Use flash exposure compensation to turn down the flash power on your camera and help reduce the effect of that extra light."
