Welp, after looking and looking for a universal bracket that would work the way I wanted and stumbling across the Arca brand universal L-bracket for $300 I figured out a much less expensive alternative.
I ended up picking up the Sunwayfoto DPL-08 l-bracket ($29.90) and Sunway MAC-14 arca-compatible clamp ($34.95) from B&H, and it works pretty much exactly as I'd hoped:
- Battery door/adapter access
- Side panel access
- Don't have to fumble around with hex-wrenches outside/in the dark to install/remove
So for a total of $64.85 I'd call it a success.
Weight: 8 oz (according to Sunwayfoto's website description of the 2 pcs. - Shipping weight of the Arca bracket, according to B&H is 14.4oz)

Able to plug in both the dummy battery/power adapter, and intervalometer/wired remote.

Has enough clearance it off of the EF to EF-M lens adapter (currently attached to a Peak Design Capture plate)

We'll see how it works in the field!
Thanks to everyone who tried pointing me in the right direction!

A similar ready-made product is the Kirk Universal Quick Realease Tall L Bracket.
