RF 100-500 Wimberley P-10 Lens Plate Attachment

I just purchased a Gitzo monopod, a Wimberley MH-100 Mono Gimbal Head and the recommended Wimberley P-10 lens plate to use with my R6 and RF 100-500.

I have never mounted a lens plate before and am a tad befuddled.  The foot of the tripod mount ring has one threaded hole and one non-threaded hole (the non-threaded hole seems to be of no use to me here).

The P-10 instructions state:  If your lens only has one fastener, you can keep the plate from twisting on the lens foot by positioning the two raised nubs on the back of the plate flush agains the back of the lens foot.  I you prefer to have the plate extend behind the lens foot, you can seat the two nubs against the front of the foot.

There is also an additional anti-twist feature in the form of two screws toward the the non-nub end of the plate.  Problem is that when the nubs are against the nose of the foot, the two screws do not contact the base of the foot, but instead, project into the neck taper.

I suppose that I could just avoid using the two set screws but I am concerned that the combination of the nubs and the main attachment screw might not prevent twisting of the plate.

Advice would be appreciated.
