Lumix S5 - manual focus/PIP question

Hey all - just got my first real camera, a Lumix S5.  I'm using manual focus for video with the camera on a Ronin RSC2 gimbal.  When I use the focus wheel on the gimbal, I get the picture-in-a-picture zoom window that lets me dial the focus in, but then I have to take a hand off the gimbal to hit "back" to exit that window and shoot.  Is there a better way to do this?  Just seems a bit cumbersome and unnecessary. There's a "back" button on the gimbal - I wonder if there's a way to make it also trigger the back button of the camera??

I've played with the settings that I can find in the camera but no solution yet.

I'm sure you all have all of this worked out long ago - I'd be grateful for your wisdom.

Many thanks, all!
