Unusable? How so? On a DFD Panasonic body, it's just a tiny tiny bit slower than a lot of other system lenses, and a little bit noisier. I found it can manage moving subjects without too much trouble, even on an 8? year old body, @ F1.7. And it's not just a fluke. You really need to look at your technique I think.

Maybe I exaggerated a bit, but combination of noisy AF motor and not very fast AF performance put me off back in the day. I used it mainly on E-M5 and when compared to for example M.Zuiko 17mm f/1.8 difference was day and night.
