Canon EF Auto Bellows, recycling on steroids.

Checking my collection of "relics" revealed an unused Canon Auto Bellows just

collecting dust. I use macro a lot for documenting tiny stuff I work on so why not

combine the excellent workmanship of the bellows with an R6 for that purpose. All

you have to do is replace the FD mounts with EF and "Bob's Your Uncle" (maybe a tiny

bit of understatement here).

"Some time later" this is the result. A Kenko 12 mm extension tube was sacrificed

and with the addition of lots of tiny new screws and some aluminum metal plates the

cost was minimal. Counting the hours the cost was huge but I see it as free workout

for the braincell and I was in voluntary house arrest anyway and had nothing better

to do.

Getting the wires from one end to the other is the tough part. I have kept the

possibility to rotate the camera mount from landscape to portrait position and that

adds "complications". It all boils down to trimming/machining as little as possible

to keep the strength but removing enough to get seven wires through in both ends.

The list of prerequisites is very long so I won't go into any detailed descriptions

at all. Maybe the result can inspire someone to try some "not so obvious" projects.

Having a touch of CED is a bonus in this case.
