Moon Photograph with a Canon EOS600D and EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS

Hi.

I started recently the amateur photography, only for fun 😅

So i'm trying to shoot the moon. I've searched around the Internet some tips, but all i got was a big, all black...wait for it...photo

For my settings, i've used manual Mode, f/8 aperture, shutter speed of 1/400 and 1/300(probably this was the cause, but idrk) ai servo and iso between 100 and 400, with only 1 single focus point(middle one). When i'm focusing the moon, at 250mm, the camera capture the moon, i think that it is focused(too far way to get sure) but when i took the picture it turns all black. I've also used tripod.

What i'm i doing wrong?  Thanks in advance!

Stay safe everyone
