Thank you very much for the excellent summary of the main information about the sigma SD14 / 15 camera. I studied the test. It is detailed and very good. In conclusion, it is not worth investing in an older sigma camera. I will stay with the SD1M camera, for which I have set the lenses in the professional service AWH Prague (except 17-70mm macro OS). We have to wait for the new FF camera Foveon ..

To me, the SD14 is the best Sigma DSLR. It is better than the SD15 because of its cleaner files. even though it requires a custom profile to get rid of the colors casts. This "teen generation" (SD14/SD15) also works seamlessly with Adobe Photoshop (for those like me who use it), while the SD9/10 are more tricky and the SD1 requires the Sigma plug-in or Kapalnika.

As stated by Mike in this thread, nothing beats an SD14 raw file taken at ISO 50. When taken with a good lens carefully focused (which for me means manually focused because I don't trust the autofocus on Sigma DSLRs), images can be enlarged to poster size while retaining their remarkable sharpness. The relatively small pixel count makes the files more mangeable and quicker to process, which I find very important: I am bored of these obese 50 or 100MPix images because I find the moderate increase in image quality is not worth the huge increase in file size, storage space requirement and processing time (incremental costs not matching the benefits).

In fact, when printed, I find it very difficult to find any difference between a good SD14 50ISO file compared to a good SD1 file taken in similar conditions with the same lens. So, why opt for the bigger and more difficult to handle file when the leaner file is just as good, if not better at the pixel level?

Cheers!
