I agree. I tried this lens for a few days and was not really happy with it. I have no issue with software corrections but even then the corners were quite soft. I was hoping for better results when stopped down.

Nevertheless, the price is really fair and if it can be used within its limitations it's certainly a no brainer. You just can't expect miracles. I have the 14-35L which definitely needs software corrections too but the end result is much, much better. (At 35mm this lens is not that good, but I use it mostly between 14-24mm anyway.)
