As specifically used by OMD EM series, in conjunction with its twin control dials and other body controls, yes

I tried the latest EM5 and EM1 bodies when I bought my XS10. I was shopping for a small camera and so would have been interested in the EM5, but I found it unpleasant and awkward to hold - beyond the lack of a decent grip, I just didn't like it. The EM1, OTOH, I thought was a very nice camera (though I didn't spend much time with the controls).

As a generalization, no

I had for example Sony cameras with PASM, and they were thoroughly unenjoyable to use (great image quality though)

I've been using a DSLR with twin dials for many years and built up a modest e-mount kit as a small, travel option. Eventually, I sold it off because, between the small, side mounted EVF and the lack of a front control dial, I disliked using it more and more over time.

While I like the PASM approach, I'd use an XT4 before going back to Sony's APS-C stuff (or the smaller EM5). Though even the bigger XT4 would need an auxiliary grip (an annoyance of mine ... it's one thing to make a faux RF body like the XPRO but put a decent grip on a $1600 camera already!)

I was a bit broad with the OM series.

I actually had the EM5 and for these hands its ergonomic was inferior to the EM1 — in the grip design, and other minor differences in layout/spacing of controls.

The differences are minor but cumulatively does change the human-device interaction.
