Where does the M line have a reasonably inspiring standard zoom for enthusiasts? The 15-45? lol

Personally, I’m a big fan of the results we get from our 18-150 on the M6II. Could be that we have an excellent copy Could be that I don’t know what real quality is, so my bar is low. IDK. But that lens and Canons 32mm f/1.4 make an exceptional kit that covers a lot of territory. I also don’t know if 18-150 counts as a standard zoom. But since it’s lighter than my RF 35 and costs less - I think it makes a great kit lens with great range.

I’d take that over the 24-105 STM being debated here But I do like my 24-240 on my RP.

We’re fortunate to have both systems because my wife and I don’t share well. 😁

R and RP have 10 year old sensors. (roughly)

As pointed out, if you’re rounding up to the closest decade, then that could be true. I find the whole, “must be the newest to be acceptable” view to be a great way to vacuum money from peoples savings.

They’ve made improvements, but in most normal shooting conditions, most modern sensors will produce fantastic images. It’s at the fringes where the newer sensors have made significant strides.

That said, sensor talk is a long way from arguing about a kit lens.  Probably a bit too far off topic.
